I covered international cricket for The Herald, Melbourne, then for Fairfax newspapers from 1988 to 2001, reporting on series played in Australia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, Zimbabwe, New Zealand and England.
I have written cricket columns and features for The Daily Telegraph, London, The Guardian, Mid-Day (Mumbai), Cricinfo, Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, Wisden Cricketers' Almanack Australia and Wisden Asia. I was Wisden Cricket Monthly's Australian correspondent from 1989 to 2000.

1983-87 - The Examiner, Launceston - photographer then reporter.
1987-89 - The Herald, Melbourne - assistant sports editor then cricket writer.
1989-1999 - The Sunday Age, Melbourne - cricket writer.
1999-2007 - The Sydney Morning Herald - cricket writer 1999 to 2001, subeditor 2001 to 2007 on sport then daily features desk.
2007-08 - Freelance work as a writer and copy editor for a range of magazines and publishers, including ABC Books, Fairfax Books and Random House.
2008-10 – sub-editing at Cumberland Newspapers, Sydney
2010-12 – senior copy editor in news department at China Daily, Beijing
2013-14 – senior copy editor in the overseas editions department at China Daily, Beijing.
I have published two books of my documentary cricket photographs. The Australian Cricket Society listed Cricket Masala as one of the best 50 cricket books ever published in Australia. I’ve had photos published in the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Weekend magazine in November 1994 and November 2003, Inside Sport magazine in January 1995, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, January 1999.
